The Mountain State Forest Festival originated in 1930 and has been a time-honored tradition ever since. In fact, it is the oldest and largest festival in West Virginia. The fall favorite has attracted upwards of 100,000 people at times, sometimes even 200,000. The 2018 festival is slated to kick off September 29th and continues until October 7th.

Elkins Fordland prides itself on being part of such a historic event and supporting our community. Visitors to the Mountain State Forest Festival can enjoy a wide array of fun events. There are concerts, art shows, exhibits, rides, parades, and more. Our favorite part, of course, is the annual Car Show, where visitors can see a variety of beautiful classic cars. The car show, combined with a chili cookoff, is Saturday, September 29th, from 1-6 p.m. It takes place on Davis Avenue in downtown Elkins.

Fairmount residents should stop by our Ford dealership after the festival. Our Ford cars may not classify as classics, but they are certainly beautiful. After all, after a day of looking at classic Ford Mustangs, wouldn't you like to drive one? The 2018 Ford Mustang has a base 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine. It gets up to 460 horsepower with up to 420 lb-ft of torque. It's one model you don't want to miss.
